Oostende | Belgium

I visited a Belgium beach for the first time a few weeks ago. I’ve been to a beach in the Nederland’s and it pretty much looked the same. Long beach’s with bluish brown water, with the essence of a beach and the feeling of freedom. It takes some time across the beige sands to get to the water with almost nonexistent waves.

The weather was good so we could walk along the shops and see people rent random bicycles. There was some orange art white stood out with the surrounding natural colours. The large objects resembled crushed square cans which was quite interesting to observe. Upon walking down a street we found a marine biology shop which sold some fantastic souvenirs. It also had a lot of information on marine biology with a small library and various examples of ocean life. I got a spark of creativity in the shop with I’m still storing away for a project in the future.

The real reason for our visit was to see a South African rapper by the name Jack Parow. Unfortunately two addresses of the location he would be at were given so we had to do some searching. So we walked through the entire Oostende and ended up asking for direction which took us to the entrance which we had passed a few times making us feel a bit hopeless but thankful that we finally found it.

The venue was underground and the performance was great. It was my 4th time seeing the artist live. This was the smallest show I’ve attended, but the crowd was alive as any. It was great to see people from another part of the world enjoy music from my own country. I’m not quite sure if they knew what exactly he was saying, but they seemed to enjoy it nonetheless.
