Food Truck Festival | Ghent

Something about buying food from a food truck is very satisfying. It might be because painted and decorated trucks are quite fascinating. Maybe because food has been made in a very small space. Or maybe because it brings some summer vibes with it. Whatever the reason, food trucks are great and should be supported.

Because summer is nearing quite fast her in Belgium, some genius decided to organise a food truck festival which will be popping up at quite a few destinations. So for a few days food trucks decorate a part of Ghent with their delicious aromas and amazing food. I met up with three au pair friends on Thursday to explore the food trucks.

There was a huge variety of food it was hard to choose what to try out and what not. I ended up with a vegan burger which was green. It also happened to be one of the stalls with the longest lines. I think this was mostly due to the fact that it was called a “Weed burger” and got a lot of people s attention.

There was more I wanted to try out, but I was to full. That and the prices were a bit expensive, but that’s normal for the service and great food. There also were no trucks with real desserts, which was a bit disappointing because I was looking forward to trying something new. I did however find a truck with Dutch poffertjies which was close enough. For the most part the festival was great. The weather got everyone out in the sun and summer vibes were all around.
