Our trip started on Wednesday as we sat
on the train and passed farmlands and adorable cows. We ended up on Blankenberge where we got on a tram to Duinbergen, a small town in Knokke-Heist. It’s a seaside
town with different houses all looking laid back and relaxing. The entire place
has a vacation vibe and I doubt it changes with the seasons. The apartment was
small bus cosy and it took us only a moment to get settled.
We made our way to the seaside where it
was dark with different lights on the horizon. The beach was so different from
the beach side in South Africa. The ocean was a greyish colour, with not so
clean sand, small waves and a lot of sand. It’s not the most vibrant place, and
people mostly go to enjoy the beach (tanning) rather than the ocean.
The next day we woke up around 5:30 and were
just in time to see the sun come out from the other side of the world. It was
beautiful as all sunsets before it. Even though we were zombies it was worth
it, we did however get into bed afterwards again.
We had brunch and then set out to the
beach, where we enjoyed the sand between our toes and took some photos in the
wind.
