Dorpsmuseum | Stellenbosch | 2017

18 December 2017 - We visited the Dorpsmuseum (Town Museum) in Stellenbosch on a beautiful day out. The museum consists out of several houses situated blocks apart from each other. After paying for our tickets at the main building, we glanced around at some historic information and various artefacts from long ago. From there we walked to the first house. We started with the oldest and made our way to the newest. Each house had a different decor and style. It was intriguing to see how decor and way of life changes throughout the years.

At each house was a lady dressed in traditional wear that matched the year of the house. Each gave information and history regardning the house and answered any questions we had. Some of the furniture was still the exact same, while other pieces were replaced. Seeing how the houses changed and people lived was fascinating.
