Lille | France

On Sunday two of my friends and I took a daytrip to Lille, France, with a group of people. The city of Lille is situated in the north part of France. It has played a few roles in the history of the world. I won’t go into any detail, but I can say that it’s worth reading about.

One of the most interesting historical sites to see was cannonballs, from one of the many wars, which are still lodged into an old building today. We had a tour through the city and saw some of the other historical parts as well, which were all in good condition. The Vielle Bourse used to be a stock exchange building, but now has markets inside the surrounding walls. Porte de Paris, a city gate, is also a must see with beautiful architecture.

Although the main focus of the city is shopping, it still had an atmosphere which was inviting. There was a lot to see and experience and we had the best day. It is definitely worth the visit if you have the time and especially of you want to do some serious shopping while exploring.
