Visiting castles are like taking a trip back in time. You get to see how kings lived and knights served. You get to see weapons and belongings. And you get too walked where people have been walking for hundreds of years. There are a variety of different styled castles over Europe and the world; the Gravensteen in Ghent is one of the medieval ones.
Made of rough stones, uneven floors and medieval vibes, the castle was even more exciting to visit than I thought it would be, from the outside it didn’t look as appealing, but once inside the castle walls changed my mind.
The view from the top was one of the best parts; we got to see how the castle looked from up high, as well as the city of Ghent. If you are a Game of Thrones fan, I suggest visiting a medieval castle, you will appreciate the show even more for it!
